Description
Penedes, Spain
In 2006, four young winemakers – Ramón Jeanet, Mercé Cusco, Toni Carbo and Ana Serra – created the Mas Candí estate to produce wines from their own vineyards planted by their grandfathers. In 2016, Ramón decided to go even further and produce his own line of wines under his own name from his family’s vines, made without any additives – a “wild” pure grape juice that reveals Ramón’s craftsmanship and new, distinctive style of winemaking that expands the boundaries of traditional Penedès wines.
Clay-limestone soils, on the edge of the Garraf Natural Park (Catalonia). The Cabernet undergoes 15 days of maceration and fermentation. It is then blended with 60% of Baudili white wine from the previous harvest. Finally, the wine is aged for 6 months in oak barrels.
Philosophy: reviving old Catalan varieties with maximum respect for the environment.
The taste is juicy, ripe fruit with notes of undergrowth and spicy nuances. Bright and fresh at the same time.
